  2. Get 1 Cup All Purpose Flour

  8. Make ready 1/2 Cup finely chopped cabbage

  12. Take 1/3 Cup finely chopped Bell peppers
  13. Take 1 tsp. black pepper powder

  16. Take For shaping Momos
  17. Take As required Water for sealing the edges optional
  18. Get For Steaming Momos
  19. Prepare 2 Cups water
  20. Prepare for greasing Oil
Steps to make Vegetarian Steamed Momos:
  1. (1) For making Dough - - In a bowl take all purpose flour, salt and oil and mix well. Now knead a firm dough by adding water little by little.
  2. Now cover the dough with wet napkin and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. (2) For Momos stuffing - - In a pan heat oil, sauté garlic for a minute add all veggies, stir and sauté on low flame for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Now add salt, black pepper, soy sauce and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes and turn off the flame and let it cool completely.
  5. (3). For shaping Momos - - Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Take each dough ball and on a lightly dusted board. Roll each dough ball into a thin circle of about 3 to 4 inches diameter.
  6. The edges have to be thin and centre has to be thick. Place 2 to 3 teaspoons of vegetable stuffing in the center.
  7. Apply water with your finger tip towards the circumference. This is an optional step.Lift one side of the edge and start pleating and join all the pleats in the centre.
  8. Prepare all momos this way and keep them covered under a moist napkin until you are ready to steam them.
  9. (4) Steaming the Momos- - Add 2 Cups water in idli pot.I have used idli maker to steam momos. Just Grease the surface with little oil before placing each momo.Cover and steam for 10 minutes till the outer dough becomes transparent.
  10. Don’t overcook as then the outer dough, becomes dense and chewy. The steaming time may vary upon the thickness of momos cover.The momos will have a transparent look
  11. Serve veg momos hot with red chilli-garlic chutney, spicy schezwan sauce or tomato sauce. They also go best with a spicy sauce and should be eaten hot.
