The ingredients needed to make Aloo Paneer:
  1. Prepare Oil for cooking
  2. Make ready 100 g paneer, cubed
  3. Make ready 2 small potatoes, boiled and cubed
  4. Get S&p
  5. Get 1 clove garlic, chopped
  6. Take 2 cardamom pods
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. Take 1 small brown onion very finely chopped
  9. Prepare 1 tsp ginger
  10. Prepare 2 cloves
  11. Prepare 1 small green chili finely chopped
  12. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  13. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  14. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  15. Make ready 1/2 tsp garam masala
  16. Make ready 1 tsp powdered fenugreek
  17. Get 200 g chopped tomatoes
  18. Get 1 tbls tomato purée
  19. Prepare 100 ml water
  20. Prepare 2 tbls thickened cream
  21. Get Naan for serving
  22. Take Optional: add steamed chopped carrot and green beans or peas for a more substantial meal
Steps to make Aloo Paneer:
  1. Fry potato and then paneer until golden brown and set aside.
  2. Oil in pan on medium heat. Add cloves and cardamom, stir for 1 minute. Add cumin. Add onion, ginger, garlic and green chili. Mix well until it becomes paste-like
  3. Add remaining spices (turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and fenugreek). Add salt. Cook for a minute. Add tomato purée and tomatoes and cook until thickened.
  4. Add water so sauce becomes a consistency you like and simmer for 4-5 minutes (If adding veg, add a little extra water, put the lid on for 10 minutes now). Add paneer and potatoes back to pan for 2 minutes. Finally, add cream for one minute then serve up with naan.
